Kenny Omega Says He Didn't Have Anything To Do With "Diverticulitis" Name In AEW Fight Forever

Kenny Omega responds to a fan revelling in his illness.

Yesterday evening, Kenny Omega took to social media to break some hard news to fans of him and All Elite Wrestling. He announced that he would be out of action indefinitely after being hospitalized. Fightful's own Sean Ross Sapp would report that Omega had been hospitalized due to a Diverticulitis diagnosis, despite his best efforts to push through the pain the illness caused.

On social media, some people have viewed this diagnosis as a form of karma, citing the name for Brock Lesnar's F5 maneuver in AEW: Fight Forever, which is listed as 'Diverticulitis'. Lesnar famously almost died from the illness, but Omega is not to blame for the name.

On Saturday, Omega would take to social media to respond to a fan who implied Kenny was receiving karma for the name in the game, with The Best Bout Machine explaining he had nothing to do with the name in a social media post of his own as he stated he was creative lead in the early stages of the game.

There is currently no timetable for a return to action for Kenny as of this writing.

During the Ring Of Honor Final Battle post show media scrum, Tony Khan would send his well wishes to Omega. You can read more about that here.

Fightful continues to wish Omega all the best in his recovery.
