Kenny Omega Wants To Entertain Non-Wrestling Fans At CEO Fighting Game Championships

Kenny Omega wishes to convert WWE fans in Daytona Beach.

At the end of June, New Japan Pro Wrestling will be holding an event at the CEO Fighting Game Championships in Daytona Beach, Florida which Kenny Omega had a hand in putting together. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Omega said his goal with CEO has been to introduce people who have not seen NJPW to it including people who don't consider themselves wrestling fans.

“There were some wrestling fans there that only knew WWE, and there is nothing wrong with that; I was one of those guys, too. But because of my role at CEO, it encouraged people there to watch more of what I do. My introduction to CEO was also an opportunity to introduce people to pro wrestling. I believe what I can do in the realms of pro wrestling can be entertaining for people who aren't even wrestling fans,” said Omega

Also in the interview, Omega spoke about putting the event together and how some of the NJPW talent will be at other shows at the same time. Eight days after the event in Florida, NJPW will be in San Francisco for another event.
