Kerry Morton praises Nick Aldis for helping him grow as a wrestler.

Morton has been a big player in the NWA since joining the company in 2021. At the Hard Times pay-per-view in November 2022, Morton cemented his legacy in the promotion and won the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship, a belt that he still holds at the time of publish.

In a new interview with WrestleZone, Morton praised former NWA star Nick Aldis for being hands on with him and helping him get where he is now.

“Nick Aldis, before his departure, really was hands on with me and that’s something I’m very appreciative of. [He would] tell me, ‘Hey Kerry, your time is going to be soon. This is how you need to start looking at the future, this is how you need to start building yourself in the gym, in the locker room, with your gear, with your mood, with your mindset.’ That’s something I’m very appreciative for. That’s helped me get where I am now.”

Aldis departed the NWA at the beginning of 2023, as his contract with the promotion expired. During his near four year run with the company, Aldis held the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship on two separate occasions. Aldis' two reigns with the belt totaled over 1300 days.

Elsewhere in the interview, Morton commented on Violent J's upcoming appearance at NWA 75. Fans can learn more here.
