Kevin Blackwood wants to push himself.
For three years in a row, 'Speedball' Mike Bailey has been the highlight of the independent wrestling world during WrestleMania weekend, competing in ten or more matches during that period of time in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
As it turns out, Kevin Blackwood wants to follow the path of Bailey, even if its only for one year. While chatting with Fightful Overbooked for a new interview, Blackwood explained his desire to have one year where he wrestles as many matches as possible.
"I’ve always wanted to the as many matches as possible kind of thing. I’ve been lucky in a few years to have several bookings. I was kind of bummed out when Mania was in LA because I lived in LA and I had like two bookings. ‘Guys, I’m already here. I live here.’ I ended up doing more tattoos on people than wrestling. That was kind of disappointing. If I could just have one year where I do the Speedball thing and I have nine to ten matches and they are all good, then I’ll be happy and I won’t ever have to do that again to myself."
Blackwood will get the chance to face Shelton Benjamin during WrestleMania weekend, as he'll take on the AEW star at Pandemonium Pro Wrestling's The House Always Wins event on April 17. Stay up-to-date with the promotion by clicking here.
