Kevin Nash reflects on working with CM Punk and Triple H back in 2011.
During the storyline that the three men were involved in, Nash was claiming to be Triple H's hired gun. At SummerSlam that year, Punk would defeat John Cena to unify the two WWE Championships that the pair held, with Triple H as the special guest referee. After, Kevin Nash would make his way through the crowd, attacking Punk from behind and hitting his Jacknife Powerbomb on the champion. This would lead to a Money In The Bank cash in from Alberto Del Rio.
This would lead to a match between Punk and Triple H being booked for the Night Of Champions pay-per-view, which Triple H would end up winning.
On the latest episode of his Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash discussed the storyline, noting that Punk got under Triple H's skin during the storyline.
"It’s funny now that Vince has taken a backseat to this whole thing, that I see Paul, he owns it now. Like, he has ownership of that company as far as, when they say he’s creative. His demeanor, he is in completely control of that situation. There has never been anybody of his talent in the ring...he was with us and we were all ruthless and we were all very driven for our success. It’s such a different Paul now. When I was supposed to wrestle Punk, he got under Triple H’s skin so bad. Paul just came up to me and said, ‘I’m going to beat him. You’re not going to wrestle him. I’m beating him.’ Cool. That’s why me and Punk never wrestled. He made the call, ‘I gotta beat this fucker.’"
Punk made his WWE return back at Survivor Series, in Chicago. He would make a surprise appearance at Saturday's NXT Deadline event also. You can read more about that here.
