Kevin Nash: I Said 'F*ck It, I'm Bolting' After Booker T Left TNA

Kevin Nash looks back on following Booker T out of TNA.

Kevin Nash spent several years in TNA, as he was with the company from 2004-2011. He left the company in January 2011 and returned to WWE at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view that month. Nash then had a return run with WWE throughout the next year.

Speaking on his Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash was asked to reflect on his time in TNA.

“I think…I mean I worked hard there. I was in good shape. I think the Main Event Mafia thing could have been, that was money. They let [Booker T], it was a bad move to let Book go. Once Book left, I said, ‘Fuck it, I’m bolting.’ I heard Book was gonna be at that Royal Rumble, I said, ‘Shit, not without me.’ So I died my shit black, went out there…," Nash said.

Nash was then asked whether he had more creative freedom in TNA, and he noted that he did. He also described how Scott Hall would always discourage him from smartening their peers up regarding being part of the creative process.

“Yeah…once you know what’s up, you have to be part of the process. All you need is one person that’s good at it. I promise you, the guy that’s good at it doesn’t want to look fucking bad at it. I remember Scott [Hall] would always be like, ‘Don’t smarten him up.’ Like dude, we gotta work with him. What do you mean, don’t smarten him up? ‘Don’t say anything when he’s got your fucking job.’ Yeah, Scott would always be like, ‘Man, don’t fucking smarten him up.’ Like you’re the one that’s got the brain," Nash said.

Nash went on to describe how he liked the TNA schedule, as it let him work four days a month, five with pay-per-views, as they had tapings two weeks apart.
