Kevin Owens has been desperate to find a way into WrestleMania since it was told to him by Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville that there may not be a spot for him this year.
On Monday, March 7, 2022, Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins lost a Tag Team Triple Threat Match for the Tag Team Championship. This was seemingly the end of the Road to WrestleMania for both men but Kevin Owens had another idea.
Kevin Owens, who has unabashedly stated his hate for Texas in recent weeks, would bookend the same show he started by losing the tag team title match by challenging Stone Cold Steve Austin to be his guest on the Kevin Owens Show.
Our premium service, Fightful Select reported on Monday, February 14 that WWE has made overtures to Stone Cold Steve Austin to wrestle for the first time in 19 years at this year's WrestleMania event.
While it was made very clear on tonight's episode of Raw that Kevin Owens was only challenging him to be his guest on the Kevin Owens Show, the commentary team referenced the 19 years it's been since Stone Cold Steve Austin has competed in the ring.
In the years since, Stone Cold Steve Austin has been a part of WrestleMania. in 2005, at WrestleMania 21, he was even in a similar situation where he was the guest on Piper's Pit with Rowdy Roddy Piper.
