"The Fiend" Bray Wyatt is defending his Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view and his opponent will be decided on the final SmackDown of 2019.
Right at the end of SmackDown, WWE announced that King Corbin, The Miz and Daniel Bryan will face off in a triple threat match on December 27 with the winner facing off against Wyatt at the Rumble.
Miz had a match against Wyatt, not "The Fiend," at the TLC pay-per-view, but Wyatt picked up the victory before Bryan returned with a different look and attacked the Universal Champion. At TLC, Corbin, the winner of the 2019 King of the Ring tournament, defeated Roman Reigns in a TLC match.
On the December 20 episode of SmackDown, Miz and Bryan teamed up to take on Corbin and Dolph Ziggler in the main event with Miz and Bryan emerging as the winning team.
So far, no matches have been confirmed for the Royal Rumble pay-per-view aside from the traditional Royal Rumble matches. Fightful will have live coverage of the pay-per-view taking place on January 26, 2020 from Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas.
