Kofi Kingston would brainstorm ideas with Hornswoggle.
It was this past January when WWE viewers were focused in on the Royal Rumble pay-per-view and what has become a regular fixture during the pay-per-view over the past two years is Kofi Kingston and Naomi pulling off athletic feats to keep themselves in the match. Kofi Kingston used Big E and Xavier Woods to keep his Rumble hopes alive in 2019 but fast forward three months after the Royal Rumble, Kofi Kingston would be raising the WWE Championship over his head at WrestleMania 35.
Kofi Kingston reflected on his Royal Rumble saves during an interview with TheWrap and shared that former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Hornswoggle helped him brainstorm different ideas to keep his feet off the floor during Rumble matches.
“I always have the mentality of like, if the idea comes, it comes, if it doesn’t, it doesn’t,” Kingston said. “Luckily, for the past 12 years or 11 years or so, the idea just kinda comes. Hornswaggle usually is the guy who I go back and forth and brainstorm with,” Kingston said. “[He’s] my brainstorming buddy, we used to room together and travel together on the road when he was here." Kofi continued, "Being the guy who has the ‘Rumble spots,’ per se … a lot of people will be thinking for me,” Kingston said.
One of the highlights of the 2019 Royal Rumble pay-per-view was Nia Jax entering the men's Rumble match and taking a Superkick, 619 and an RKO. Nia Jax is currently out of action rehabbing after undergoing double ACL surgery in April.
