Konnan Claims He's Still 'Negotiating' Inducting Rey Mysterio Into The WWE Hall Of Fame

Konnan claims negotiations concerning his involvement in Rey Mysterio's WWE Hall of Fame induction are ongoing.

Rey Mysterio was announced as the first inductee of the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2023 during the March 10 episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown. Shortly after the announcement was made, the Los Angeles Times reported that AAA Lucha Libre's Konnan would induct his long-time friend into the WWE Hall of Fame.

However, Konnan claimed during a recent interview with MuscleManMalcolm that negotiations are still ongoing, and it's not official until the announcement comes from WWE.

“Well, I would be very disappointed if it wasn’t me, but Rey has asked me, so we’re still negotiating. Until they put it out there, Until they officially announce it, I really can’t say anything on it, but I have been contacted,” Konnan said about inducting Mysterio into the Hall of Fame.

Should K-Dawg induct Mysterio, it will be the first time he appears officially on WWE programming. Konnan was initially slated to play the role of Max Moon in the 90s, but that role eventually ended up going to Paul Diamond. Konnan had a successful career in AAA, WCW, Lucha Underground, TNA, and elsewhere.

Elsewhere in this interview, Konnan spoke about the rise of Dominik Mysterio and why he believes that, if they do wrestle at WrestleMania, Dom should get the win over his father. Learn more here.
