Konosuke Takeshita will put the title on the line at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty.
NEVER Openweight Champion Shingo Takagi previously challenged AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita to face him at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19. Takeshita was set to challenge Takagi fo his title, and if he retained his championship on the road to the show, he would defend the gold as well. After Takeshita beat Powerhouse Hobbs to retain the AEW International Championship at AEW Worlds End, NJPW officially announced that his bout with Takagi will be a double title match.
The winner of Takeshita's match with Takagi will defend both titles against Tomohiro Ishii at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty on January 4.

After a successful defense Saturday at the World’s End event against Powerhouse Will Hobbs, Konosuke Takeshita will defend the AEW International Championship against Shingo Takagi’s NEVER title in a title for title match at Wrestle Kingdom.
Not only that, but the next night at Wrestle Dynasty, Tomohiro Ishii will challenge for both championships. Who will emerge with all the gold?
