Kurt Angle praises Samoa Joe and AJ Styles as his favorite TNA Wrestling opponents.
Kurt Angle has been fortunate enough to wrestle many of the greats throughout his career. He has had classic matches with Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, Eddie Guerrero, Steve Austin, Triple H, The Rock, and more.
Despite his plentiful catalog of matches from his time in WWE, the bulk of Kurt Angles's time as an active, full-time wrestler came under the TNA Wrestling banner. While with TNA, he had plenty of great matches with the likes of Ken Anderson (Mr. Kennedy), Jeff Hardy, AJ Styles, Bobby Roode, Desmond Wolfe (Nigel McGuinness), and Samoa Joe.
During a recent Q&A session for AdFreeShows, Angle praised Joe and Styles as his favorite opponents, calling his matches with them "priceless."
Asked what his favorite match in TNA Wrestling was, Kurt responded, "It's hard for me to pinpoint one, but almost every match I had with AJ Styles, to be honest with you. Him and Samoa Joe were my two favorites to work with and every match I had with both of them was priceless.
"I would say probably with AJ, it would be our Last Man Standing Match [at TNA Hard Justice 2008]. I think that's my favorite match with AJ and that wasn't as much of a wrestling match as we had with other matches," Kurt added.
Continuing on, Angle would compare AJ Styles to Rey Mysterio and call AJ the most well-versed wrestler he had ever been in the squared circle with.
"AJ is such a great talent. It's so easy working with him because he just kind of flies around and you catch him. He just makes the matches exciting. Reminds me a lot of a bigger Rey Mysterio. AJ can work a heavyweight style. He can also work Lucha Libre style. He is the most well-versed wrestler I've ever been in the ring with."
Kurt Angle recently commented on the return of TNA Wrestling, saying that he would have liked to see the company go back to the hexagonal-style ring that they used in the mid-2000s. Read more here.
