Fletcher blamed the fans, saying that when he arrived in AEW, he was the next big thing until Ospreay arrived. "Then, they started calling me the next Will Ospreay. They said I look like you, I wrestle like you, and I sound like you. I took that as an insult." Fletcher said he's better than Ospreay in every single way.
Fletcher said there was a time where he may have liked those comparisons, noting that when he joined United Empire, Ospreay was the kingpin.
Fletcher said he left NJPW and came to AEW because of what happened to Ospreay and Okada, where Ospreay stabbed Okada in the back. He mentioned Ospreay's history with Omega, and how they were compared before Ospreay used a screwdriver on Omega. Fletcher said he left before Ospreay screwed him. "You never wanted me to reach my full potential and to surpass you."
Fletcher challenged Ospreay to face him next Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, and that he will send him to the hospital and bury him.
To prove he is nothing like Ospreay, Fletcher began shaving his head.

At AEW WrestleDream, Fletcher turned against Ospreay, stabbing him in the back of the head with a screwdriver and costing him the AEW International Title. Fletcher delivered a Tiger Driver 91 after the match.
