Kyle O'Reilly Says 'Smell Ya Later' Following Steel Cage Loss To Von Wagner On 12/7 WWE NXT

"It's not goodbye," says Kyle O'Reilly.

Kyle O'Reilly has been one of the main Superstars in NXT since arriving in 2017 as part of the Undisputed ERA. Following the first non-TakeOver pay-per-view, NXT WarGames 2021, O'Reilly avoided a beatdown by Von Wagner and let him know that the Undisputed ERA was a brotherhood, unlike their partnership.

Then, Wagner and O'Reilly did battle inside a steel cage on December 7, 2021 and inside the cage, Wagner asserted his dominance and not only beat Kyle O'Reilly but attacked him with the cage door after the match. Leading up to this match, O'Reilly’s future in WWE was in doubt, with O'Reilly being offered a contract but having not signed as of WarGames.

After NXT on December 7, Kyle O'Reilly and Johnny Gargano embraced in the ring, as they both have uncertain futures.

On Twitter, Kyle O'Reilly posted a thank you to those who have shown him love and said it's not goodbye, but “smell ya later,” channeling Nelson Muntz.
