Lars Sullivan will be in action for the first time in more than a year.
WWE announced that Sullivan will take on Jeff Hardy on the October 16 episode of SmackDown, which will be the "season premiere" of SmackDown and its first since the 2020 WWE Draft.
This will be Sullivan's first match since he defeated The Lucha House Party in a handicap match on the June 10, 2019 episode of Raw, which was also Sullivan's Raw in-ring debut. The match against Hardy will also be Sullivan's first on SmackDown.

As it is the first episode of FOX's "second season" of SmackDown, there will be a kickoff show airing on FOX right beforehand and will be hosted by Renee Paquette, formerly known as Renee Young.
Fightful will have live coverage of SmackDown.
