Chelsea Green, also known as Laurel Van Ness, has had a rapid rise since her days on WWE Tough Enough in 2015.
Now the Impact Knockouts Champion, Green spoke to the Orlando Sentinel about rumors that she asked out of her Impact contract. While she didn't outright deny the claims in any quote published, she did speak on the subject and mention that she's under contract until June 2018.
"Nothing fazes me anymore,” Green said. “That Knockouts locker room is my constant. We focus on us, our friendships and our match quality and we can’t think about anything else. Our job is to put on the best show possible for you, and that’s what we want.”
After a big shift in character last year, Green received high praise for her dedication to the Laurel Van Ness role. According to Green, she's instrumental in the process.
"Almost everything with Laurel since that first promo has come from me, from my ideas," said Green. "If they don’t like something, they’ll pull me back, but I’m really proud of that character’s development. Who Laurel is isn’t at all who Chelsea is, but it’s really brought me out of my shell as a performer.”
Impact will return to Orlando and the Impact Zone after a brief run in Ottawa, a little closer to parent company Anthem's HQ.
