Lex Luger Stands Up Out Of Wheelchair, Takes Some Assisted Steps Ahead Of WWE Hall Of Fame Speech

Lex Luger takes his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame.

Lex Luger was the first man officially inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2025. He was inducted by his longtime friend, Diamond Dallas Page, and when it was time for him to give his speech, he stood up out of his wheelchair and, with help from DDP and another individual, took a few steps to the podium. Before starting his speech, he admitted that they had planned a longer walk, but he had "taken a bump" before a recent Uber ride so that changed plans.

The speech itself saw Lex Luger thanking his friends, his pastor, Steve, and all the fans. He spoke about starting out not loving the industry but coming full circle and being a huge fan of wrestling today.

Lex Luger is a co-winner of the 1994 WWE Royal Rumble, two-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, five-time WCW United States Champion, and three-time WCW Tag Team Champion.

Lex Luger is in a wheelchair because of a spinal cord injury sustained in 2007. The damage was caused by a nerve impingement in his neck, which led to temporary paralysis.
