Lita Discusses How Her Iconic Look Came To Be

Lita shares how her classic WWE look came to be.

Appearing on the most recent episode of Steve Austin's Broken Skull Sessions (available now on Peacock and WWE Network), Lita discussed the evolution of her gear, revealing that the idea to have her thong showing came while shopping in Atlanta with Edge.

"So, it’s funny that you showed this specific outfit [seen above] because it was that outfit, the red foil outfit that I bought. Edge and I had gone shopping that day in Atlanta and I just had a black thong on. He’s like, ‘Oh, let me see your outfit that you bought.’ So it was just sticking out of my pants and I was like, ‘Well, I mean, not like that. But, I mean, this is the outfit.’ He’s like, ‘Or like that.’ But that was early on, I was with Essa Rios. So I just kind of put it in my back pocket that it might be an extra – I just looked at it as an accessory to match my top to my bottom," she said.

Despite the air of confidence, Lita admits that she didn't feel like a star, noting that she was just thankful the audience was into what she was doing. She also shared a story of Jerry Lawler approaching her after her first night rocking the new look in the ring.

"No, of course not. I’m just like, ‘I’m going to do my thing and thankfully these people are into it.’ King, I remember, the first time said, ‘Hey, you had a great match tonight but your underwear was sticking out of your pants the whole time.’ I was like, ‘You know, I did that on purpose,’" she said.

A four-time Women's Champion, Lita was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014.

Elsewhere during the interview, Lita spoke about her match with Becky Lynch at Elimination Chamber, as well as her not-so-great experience at the 2018 Royal Rumble. Click here to read more.
