JBL: Rey Mysterio Is The Greatest Luchador Of All Time. He Can Afford To Lose To El Grande Americano

John Bradshaw Layfield believes Rey Mysterio could afford to slip on a banana peel and give El Grande Americano his first win at WrestleMania.

JBL is no stranger to losing to Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania. In his final match, Rey Mysterio squashed Bradshaw in a WWE Intercontinental Championship match at WrestleMania 25. This year, Mysterio is competing in his 13th WrestleMania against the new Luchador on the scene in WWE, El Grande Americano, widely believed to be Chad Gable in a mask.

JBL previewed WrestleMania 41 on the latest episode of the Something to Wrestle podcast. While speaking about the match between Americano and Mysterio, he praised Mysterio's longevity but said that for the storyline with Americano to continue, Mysterio has to lose here.

"I think El Grande Americano beats Rey Mysterio. I think Rey Mysterio is the greatest luchador of all time and without a doubt, I think he is and one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. But I think because he is, he can afford to be beat. I think probably that's why they're going to have to slip on a banana peel, as they say, and El Grande Americano, I tell you what, man, there's some legs to this if they want to really go with it. I think this could be a lot of fun, and I think Rey could be a big part of it. I think he probably will, but if you beat El Grande Americano here, it might kill it. So to me, I think you have to put El Grande Americano over."

Bradshaw previously stated that he was privy to some of the storyline's inner workings. Read his comments here.
