Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson share their thoughts.
On January 16th, WWE and TNA officially announced a multi-year partnership. Since then, the crossover between the two companies has continued, as NXT talent appeared at TNA Genesis and the live episode of TNA iMPACT! on January 23rd.
Speaking on Talk'n Shop, Luke Gallows brought up watching the live episode of TNA iMPACT!, and he highlighted Joe Hendry.
Luke Gallows: I turned on the first live TNA in eight years. It’s fun, you can talk about that here as WWE guys now because WWE has announced the partnership with TNA. I was thinking, ‘That’s pretty cool.’ In the beginning, Joe Hendry comes out, he’s the new world champion. I didn’t know any of this. I just thought, ‘Well let me pop it on.’
Karl Anderson: So they pulled the trigger on Joe Hendry?
LG: They pulled the trigger on Joe Hendry. So now you wonder, does this feed into, and there’s speculation about this, a Joe Hendry surprise Royal Rumble appearance? I would have to think yes, correct?
Gallows then noted that there was a lot of crossover between WWE and TNA, both through the partnership and through talent who had previous runs in the other company. He wondered how many performers could appear in the Royal Rumble.
LG: I’m wondering, how many TNA people do you think pop into that Rumble? You think it’s one guy, one girl? Do you think it’s more?
KA: This will be a lot of fun. I think the TNA/NXT, the partnership’s amazing for, you get the young guys from NXT can go work at a different territory, get a little different television experience.
LG: We should be the liaisons for WWE and TNA because we have so much experience in both.
KA: I don’t care what anybody thinks or says, any chance you get an opportunity to work with WWE, you’re getting a platform that people dream of getting.
NXT's Wes Lee is set to compete on the January 30th episode of TNA iMPACT. More information is available.
