Mariah May doesn't have a problem with Toni Storm.
Mariah May brutally attacked Toni Storm on the July 10th episode of AEW Dynamite. After bloodying Storm with a shoe, she wiped Storm's blood on her face. May went on to beat Storm at AEW All In to win the AEW Women's World Championship.
Speaking on Mostly Sports With Mark Titus and Brandon Walker, Mariah May was asked about her problem with May.
"I don’t really have a problem with Toni Storm. I really like her. [Asked about smearing her blood on her face] That’s how much I like her. Would you do that to someone you don’t like? Put their blood in your mouth if you didn’t like them?" May said.
Walker noted that he’d never done that, and May replied that he was missing out. May was then asked about her win and whether she had thought about simply going out on top. She noted that she had to win a whole tournament and beat a woman with a shoe.
“I didn’t really agree to wrestle on Dynamite and defend this. I don’t know who booked that. Last time I checked, I had to win a whole tournament and stab a woman in the head with a shoe," May said.
Walker replied by saying that May did not have to do that. However, she highlighted the importance of the shoe, saying that the mind games helped her win.
"But it helped me win. Because if it was just Toni and I wrestling, it could have gone either way, but I won the mind games. She couldn’t do to me what I do to her, so I had to do that to beat Toni Storm," May said.
Toni Storm has expressed her interest in facing Mariah May at AEW Grand Slam Australia. Check out her comments here.
May will defend her title against Nyla Rose on the September 4th episode of AEW Dynamite. Fightful will have coverage of the show as it airs.
