While speaking to Jon Alba on the latest edition of The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy, Matt confirmed that his AEW deal does come up this month.

"That was all new to me, but it is what it is, I guess. As far as that goes with my contract, people had asked about my contract coming up. Obviously I've got responses, after that news broke earlier today and it didn't come from me because no one had, had known anything about it. So once again, Sean Ross Sapp breaking breaking the news, right? Yes, it is coming up in March and, we've spoke about it and we've talked about it and I guess we'll see what happens."

Hardy went on to emphasize that he has been friends with the Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) for a long time, and he has enjoyed working with Tony Khan. He stated that he loves AEW and he would be cool with staying, but he understands that business is business, and things change.

“Ever since I came to AEW, I spoke with the Bucks first, I’ve been close with the Bucks. We’ve been great friends for a long time. I’ve really enjoyed working with Tony Khan. Tony Khan is legitimately a very, very good human being, I think. So we’ll see. Business is business. Sometimes, things change. You never know. I love AEW, I’m cool with staying with AEW. I really enjoy the locker room there, I enjoy the vibe there. But if that’s not what happens, then that’s not what happens, and life goes on. It’s all good," Hardy said.

Hardy last competed on AEW programming on the January 3rd edition of AEW Rampage, where he teamed with Mark Briscoe and his brother Jeff to defeat Kip Sabian, The Blutcher and The Blade.

Hardy recently provided an update on Jeff's recovery after his recent injury. You can read more about that here.
