Matt Hardy: One Last Battle Between The Hardys And Edge & Christian Would Be 'Pretty Magical'

Matt Hardy and Christian Cage recently renewed their rivalry, and the Hardy brother would like to add their respective tag team partners into the mix.

Cage faced Hardy on the August 3 episode of AEW Dynamite. For many fans, this bout was a blast from the past. In the early years of their careers, The Hardys often clashed with Edge and Christian in WWE. The two teams competed in some historic battles, including their classic Ladder Match at No Mercy 1999. Many years later, Cage and both Hardys are members of the AEW roster, while Edge remains with WWE.

Speaking with MuscleManMalcolm, Matt was asked to name a member of his generation that he'd like to see wind up in AEW. The veteran named Edge and noted that he'd like to have one last match between The Hardys and Edge and Christian.

“You hear this all the time, but people say if the stars and planets align, you know, my brother comes back, everything’s good, I hear people say all the time, oh my god, we’d love to see Edge come and do one last Hardys vs. Edge and Christian. That would be a pretty magical moment," he said.

Earlier in the interview, Matt looked back on his career and named the first time he and his brother won the tag team titles as one of his favorite moments.

“I mean I feel like our biggest moment out of the first decade is probably gonna be winning the tag team titles because that was our initial goal. If we did that, we did everything we ever wanted to do. But fortunately, we did that exponentially. We did it many, many times in many, many different promotions, which is very cool. So that was a big moment there," Hardy said.

Jeff Hardy is currently suspended after his DUI arrest on June 13, and Tony Khan has said that he will not be allowed to return to the promotion until he finishes substance abuse treatment. Meanwhile, Edge returned to WWE at SummerSlam, and he continues to feud with The Judgment Day.
