The North Carolina crowd got a surprise on SmackDown as Matt Hardy returned to action for the first time since September.
Matt teamed with his brother Jeff to defeat Sheamus & Cesaro in tag team competition. Matt last wrestled at a WWE live event on September 15, 2018. He last appeared on WWE television on August 13, 2018. Hardy hinted at retirement due to various injuries during his time away, but more recently has been showing off his physique on social media and discussing his potential comeback. He also revealed that his WWE contract expires on Mar. 5. However, PWInsider reports that WWE invoked a clause in the Hardy's contract that allowed them to roll over their deal for an extra year.
The Hardy Boyz have not teamed since September 2017.
You're not seeing things.
