Conrad Thompson recently sparked some buzz when he said that someone reached out and said that Shane McMahon reached out to AEW talent about hypothetically joining the company. Tony Khan then said that he had never met or talked to McMahon, but he went on to state that Shane would always be welcome in AEW.
Speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt Hardy was asked whether he could see a world where Shane McMahon would appear in AEW.
“He’s not. I heard from someone…none of that was true. It’s Matt Fiction, 100%, yeah. It would be wild. Shane reached out to someone, I said like, ‘Why is all this talk of me and AEW, why’s this going on?’ People started texting me about it, and reached out to someone and asked them about it, which was interesting," Matt Hardy said.
