Matt Riddle Reflects On Past Issue With Roman Reigns, Says They're Good Now

Matt Riddle comments on his relationship with Roman Reigns.

For years, fans have buzzed about the tension between Roman Reigns and Matt Riddle. In a 2021 interview, Riddle claimed that he could beat Roman Reigns in a fight. The comment was meant to further the storyline between RK-Bro and The Bloodline, but it led to some real heat. Riddle has also said that Reigns did not move the needle.

Though the two eventually worked together in June 2022, they were largely kept separate. Matt Camp recently said that they kept Riddle off the set of WWE's The Bump when Reigns appeared via video. Riddle has previously noted that he attempted to write Reigns an apology, but Randy Orton rewrote it, and Reigns did not accept it.

Speaking with the New York Post, Matt Riddle discussed his relationship with Roman Reigns and how it had improved.

“I think when he saw how professional I am in the ring and I also explained why things were said and I wasn’t just trying to call you out. I know my place in WWE, but when someone tells me to cut a promo on you, I’m gonna cut a promo on you. I think he understood that. Still wasn’t happy about it, but understood. Me and Roman, we’re good," Matt Riddle said.

WWE released Riddle in September 2023. He has since wrestled for NJPW and MLW, among other promotions. Riddle recently won the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship as well.

Riddle is set to compete at MLW Summer of the Beasts. More information is available here.
