Mercedes Mone won't be working with Megan Thee Stallion, at least not right now.
In August, Mercedes Mone said that she wanted to get Megan Thee Stallion in an AEW ring. This came after Mojo Rawley previously confirmed that Megan was set to do something with Mercedes at a past WWE SummerSlam event. On the September 13th episode of WWE SmackDown, WWE debuted Megan Thee Stallion and RM's (of BTS) "Neva Play" as the opening theme. Mone then said that her advocate had spoken with Megan's manager about doing something in AEW.
Speaking on The Breakfast Club, Mercedes Mone was asked whether she was going to get to do her collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion.
“Not right now. Unfortunately, no," Mone said.
Mone was then asked what the collaboration was supposed to be, and she said that it was supposed to be something fun. She noted that it might have been a tag team match or a match where they would face each other. Mone then brought up how WWE was using one of Megan Thee Stallion's songs for SmackDown's opening theme.
“Something fun, either a tag team match, a wrestling match, something. [She would] either wrestle with me or wrestle against me, but there was talks of doing something fun with her, but now she’s doing the opening theme song for SmackDown, which is awesome," Mone said.
Mercedes was then asked to elaborate on why they weren't working together, and she explained that, brand-wise, Megan did a song with WWE, whereas she was with AEW, so she did not think they could do anything together.
“Just brand-wise, she did a song with WWE, and I’m with AEW, so I just think we can’t do anything together," Mone said.
Mone also spoke highly of Megan Thee Stallion by saying that while they only met a few times, she was awesome.
