Mick Foley helped connect Brandi Rhodes and KultureCity and is very proud of that contribution.
When Brandi Rhodes, former AEW Chief Brand Officer, announced that the start of promotion would be working with KultureCity to create a more sensory-inclusive experience for those on the autism spectrum, it was seen as a progressive step for an upstart promotion.
Now, WWE Hall of Famer, Mick Foley and Brandi Rhodes are discussing how "The Hardcore Legend" connected Brandi to the sensory-inclusive charity.
"It was so easy. It was Julian Maha, who had founded a group, KultureCity, to help people living on the spectrum, or who might suffer from other disorders basically reach their fullest potential and life. Julian wanted to make wrestling venues safer," Mick said during an appearance on Brandi's 2 Lies and 1 Truth podcast. "He asked if I had any contacts at AEW. I just reached out to you and the rest is history. You can give me credit but I basically said — I think I texted you and said, 'Brandi, Julian Maha is a guy I've been working with for a while. He would like to see if he could speak to you by making AEW sensory-inclusive. Within a week, I'm like reading about a press conference and the announcement. It could be, in some ways, one of the biggest contributions I've made to wrestling, but all it was was one text message. So you can give me credit if you want. I was just setting him up with the right person at the right time."
Despite Brandi and Cody Rhodes leaving AEW in 2022. KultureCity's relationship with AEW continues. AEW President Tony Khan is also on the KultureCity board. With Cody Rhodes returning to WWE at WrestleMania 38, Brandi Rhodes noted that KultureCity even had a presence at WWE SummerSlam 2022, a partnership she hopes to see continue.
Rhodes recently stated that she is moving on from wrestling for the foreseeable future, she feels as though she did all she could in wrestling but her heart is currently taking her on a different path. Learn more here.
As for Mick Foley, he recently signed a new Legends deal with WWE. Learn more here.
