From the moment the Street Profits debuted, they garnered comparisons to Cryme Tyme. Though the two teams are different, Montez Ford did watch Cryme Tyme growing up and was looking forward to stepping in the ring with them at some point in his career.
Speaking to Metro UK, Ford discussed meeting Shad Gaspard and a potential match against Cryme Tyme.
"Oh man. Cryme Tyme was one of the tag teams I watched growing up, like the Hardyz and a whole other bunch of guys. ‘So, it’s cool – when I first met Shad, we just hit it off, real nice guy… Unfortunately, that’s one of the things that didn’t happen but I know that’s one of the things we always looked forward to. ‘Watching what you’re watching as a child growing up, and not only becoming part of the dream but actually getting to work with some of the people you watched growing up. ‘We may not get a chance in this life to have that match, but I know in another life we will. We’ll tear it up!" he exclaimed.
Sadly, Shad Gaspard tragically passed away in May after being pulled under by a rip current in Venice Beach. Fans can still support Gaspard and his family by clicking here.
The Street Profits are set to face The Vikings Raiders in a Raw Tag Team Title bout this Monday on WWE Raw.
