Neil Seery Out Of UFC 208, Ian McCall Loses Another Opponent

Neil Seery has suffered a death in the family and he has pulled himself out of UFC 208, where he was scheduled to face Ian McCall in a flyweight division contest. Seery posted the following statement on his Facebook page:

“I pulled out of my fight in 2 weeks due to losing my mother in law today sorry to everyone who bought tickets but family comes first.”

This fight was going to serve as the retirement fight for Seery, who was set to initially retire in the first proposed fight with Ian McCall at UFC Fight Night 99, but McCall pulled out of that fight due to an illness.

As for Seery’s opponent, McCall, this is the fourth straight fight that either McCall or his opponent has pulled out of the fight. McCall first saw Justin Scoggins pull out of a fight at UFC 201 after a failed weight cut, Ray Borg pulled out of a UFC 203 bout with McCall for the same reasons, then the two fights with Seery were next for McCall to be canceled.

UFC 208 takes place on Saturday, February 11 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York with Holly Holm and Germaine De Randamie headlining.
