Kawato-San is a champion.
22-year old Kawato-San New Japan Pro Wrestling has been on excursion in CMLL since early 2018, and now can call himself CMLL Super Lightweight Champion (also known as the CMLL Lightweight Championship), after he defeated El Audaz.
As Kawato has been on excursion, he hasn't wrestled for New Japan Pro Wrestling since early last year. Still, he received words of encouragement from both current and former members of the roster.

Luchablog would also note that the match will air next week. Notable names such as Dragon Lee, Rocky Romero and others have also held the championship. Dragon Lee had vacated the championship two weeks ago, but the title wasn't defended often.
