New Day To Defend NXT Tag Team Titles On 12/20 NXT, Nikkita Lyons vs. Zoey Stark Also Announced

The December 20 episode of NXT will feature two title matches.

As announced during the December 13 episode, the New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) will defend the gold against Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen. Kingston and Woods beat Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) to win the titles at NXT Deadline. On Tuesday night, he New Day agreed to give them a rematch if they recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Proud to showcase their patriotism, Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen came to the ring and recited the Pledge of Allegiance to earn a title shot.

Elsewhere on the show, Kayden Carter and Katana Chance will defend the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship next week. They were at ringside for a match between Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne) and Tatum Paxley & Ivy Nile on Tuesday. Their presence led to a three-way brawl that continued backstage later in the show. WWE then confirmed that the three teams will clash in a title match on the show.

Plus, Nikkita Lyons will face her former tag team partner Zoey Stark in a heated grudge match, Indi Hartwell will take on Elektra Lopez, and Carmelo Hayes will look to bounce back when he battles Axiom. Finally, Apollo Crews will return to NXT for the first time since he unsuccessfully challenged Bron Breakker for the NXT Championship at NXT Deadline.
