Thank God for The New Day. That's what Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods want you to say now that they are the brand new WWE World Tag Team Champions.
Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have picked up their first set of Tag Team Championship belts since dropping Big E from their team by defeating Erik & Ivar, the War Raiders, at WWE WrestleMania 41. The match was presented by the Clash of Clans mobile game, and while Erik and Ivar had gear inspired by the game, Kofi and Xavier combined the gears of Giant Gonzalez and Jushin Thunder Liger to create a unique gear type.
Their entrance gear also featured a mythical creature that combined the heads of Cerberus and a unicorn. One of the creature's heads was hanging low, indicating that it had clearly passed away. On commentary, it was said that this was a nod to Big E being booted out of the team by Xavier and Kofi.
New Day got the victory with Daylight, their Backbreaker x Double Foot Stomp move.
