Joe Hendry captured the TNA World Championship at TNA Genesis, defeating Nic Nemeth in the main event.
The finish saw Hendry hit a fallaway slam followed by the standing ovation, his second of the match, to secure the win and earn his first TNA World Title.

Frankie Kazarian tried to get involved in the match, looking to cash in his Call Your Shot trophy, but he was prevented by JBL, who wiped out Kazarian with the clothesline from hell. Ryan Nemeth also tried to get involved, but he was punched out by JBL.
