Nick Gage would rather die than lose to Chris Jericho.
On the July 21 episode of AEW Dynamite, Jericho was able to survive the first labor of MJF by defeating Shawn Spears in a match where only Spears could use a chair as a weapon. After the bout, MJF announced the second labor for Jericho, bringing out Nick Gage. He then announced a No DQ match for the July 28 episode of AEW Dynamite. Later in the night, Chris Jericho announced he would bring back The Painmaker to face Gage.
The GCW World Champion was asked about Jericho by a fan (via Cameo) and had the following to say:
"You're asking me about the Painmaker, well guess what, I don't give a fuck what his name is. It could be Chris Jericho, it could be Painmaker, Pacemaker, or whatever. I'm going to go in that ring and I'm going to leave that ring with a weapon in my motherfucking hand with blood dripping off of it. 'Cause I'd rather die in that ring than to lose to that motherfucker. I'm going to represent for all my Death Match Warriors out there because I'm going to carve him up from head to toe so when that Painmaker looks in the mirror every day when he wakes up, he's going to know the God of this shit did that to him. You know what it is. It's MDK all motherfucking day."
