At AEW WrestleDream, Nick Wayne turned his back on Darby Allin, striking him with the AEW TNT Championship and aligning himself with Christian Cage.
On the October 7 episode of AEW Collision, Wayne explained that Darby abandonded him when he was younger and that Christian Cage is the father figure that he always needed.

Wayne was brought into AEW by Darby and has been align with Dary since his debut match in July.
