Artem Chigvintsev, the husband of Nikki Garcia (Nikki Bella), was arrested on Thursday and charged with felony domestic violence.
TMZ reports that a 911 call was made by Chigvintsev, who requested medical assistance after claiming that Garcia had thrown shoes at him. He then called back and tried to cancel the call.
The protocol calls for police to respond after a 911 call is made. Upon arriving to the scene, Chigvintsev was arrested for felony corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant. For a felony charge, injuries must be visible.
The Napa County (California) Sheriff’s office stated Thursday that “the victim in the case has asked for total confidentiality.”
A representative for Garcia gave the following statement:
“This is a private matter, and Nikki asks for privacy for her and her family at this time.”
Garcia and Chigvintsev married in 2022 and have a four-year-old son together.
