NJPW is reorganizing the IWGP governing body.
During a press conference on July 3, NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi announced steps for the reorganization of the IWGP governing body for title matches and tournaments within NJPW.
The IWGP Committee will be composed of former IWGP Champions and NJPW executives. NJPW will have further announcements soon about their commitment to wrestlers and officiating in NJPW events.
NJPW wrestlers spoke out about AEW wrestlers getting a shot at the IWGP World Heavyweight Title when Jon Moxley was the champion.
Tetsuya Naito defeated Moxley to win the title at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
