SANADA has punched his ticket to his first G1 Climax finals.
SANADA was able to pick up a victory against EVIL in today's B Block finals to force a three-way tie on points with EVIL and Tetsuya Naito at 12 points each. However, SANADA advances to the finals due to him having wins over EVIL and Naito during the tournament, easily winning the tie-breaker. SANADA will face Kota Ibushi in the tournament finals on October 18.
The other notable thing in this match between SANADA and EVIL is the return of Hiromu Takahashi, who was on commentary for the match and got involved in the end. Takahashi superkicked Dick Togo, who was aiding EVIL in matches throughout the summer. Takahashi has not been seen since he lost a tournament final to crown a new IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champion back in September.

It's been an interesting G1 Climax for SANADA, who started his campaign with a countout loss to Toru Yano. That loss was then followed by two more losses, nearly eliminating SANADA from the tournament before the halfway point. However, SANADA was able to score his first tournament win over Naito and then finished the tournament with six straight victories.
At 6-3, SANADA had his best finish in a G1 in his career, easily surpassing the 4-5 record he posted every year in the tournament from 2016 to 2019.
