NJPW Owner Says Konosuke Takeshita Has Signed A One-Year Deal

Konosuke Takeshita had a memorable weekend in NJPW, winning the NEVER Openweight Championship from Shingo Takagi at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19 and then defending the NEVER Openweight Title and AEW International Title against Tomohiro Ishii at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty.

After the bout with Ishii, Takeshita stated he was now affiliated with NJPW.

Speaking to Tokyo Sports, NJPW Owner Takaaki Kidani spoke on Takeshita's deal.

“I think the contract is for one year, but AEW doesn't have many fights. If he wants to fight in the New Japan main event, that could happen in practice. I think it's fine for him to come and go. There are a lot of wrestlers like that,” he said.

Takeshita is also affiliated with DTT Pro Wrestling.
