Big matches added to USA premiere.
On Sept. 18, NXT will debut its weekly two-hour show live on USA Network. In an effort to kick things off with a bang, NXT announced two big matches for the premiere. First, Io Shirai, Bianca Belair, and Mia Yim will meet in a triple threat match to determine the number one contender for the NXT Women's Championship. The belt is currently held by Shayna Baszler.
Baszler will be in action on the Sept. 11 episode of NXT when she collides with Rhea Ripley in a non-title bout.
The Sept. 18 episode will also feature an NXT North American Title match as Roderick Strong will get his one-on-one match against Velveteen Dream. The two were nearly set to go one-on-one in Toronto, but Pete Dunne inserted himself into the contest, making it a triple threat. Dream pinned Dunne to retain the title.
Strong lit Dream's sofa on fire on the Sept. 4 NXT, enraging Dream and getting him to agree to put the title on the line in a singles bout.
