For the first time ever, NXT will be hosting an all-women version of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
During NXT New Year's Evil, William Regal made two announcements. The first was the announcement of the next TakeOver. The second announcement was that after assessing the depth of their female roster, William Regal has decided that now is the perfect time for NXT to host a female Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament.
In early 2020, Shawn Michaels and Triple H revealed during an interview with Inside The Ropes that they were scouting a new crop of women for a tournament. However, no further details about that tournament were ever revealed
