The Great American Bash is back.
NXT announced that The Great American Bash will return as a television special on Tuesday, July 6.
NXT brought back The Great American Bash in 2020 as a two-night special that took place on July 1 and July 8. The fight night of the event was headlined by Io Shirai vs. Sasha Banks while Keith Lee winning the NXT Championship from Adam Cole in a Winner Take All match headlined the second night of the event.
The Great American Bash originated at an idea by Dusty Rhodes with the first event being held in 1985 under the NWA banner.
Along with announcing the return of the Great American Bash, NXT also announced that Kushida will issue an NXT Cruiserweight Championship open challenge on the June 15 episode of NXT. Kushida did not compete at NXT TakeOver: In Your House.
