Oba Femi Names Bronny James As NBA Player He Would Want To Have In His Corner

Oba Femi wants to have "Baby Bronny" in his corner.

Speaking on The A Show on RNC Radio, NXT North American Champion Oba Femi was asked about NBA stars Jalen Brunson and Tyrese Haliburton appearing on the June 28 episode of WWE SmackDown. He was asked to name an NBA star that he would want to have in his corner. Femi named Los Angeles Lakers rookie Bronny James, the son of LeBron James.

“Oh, right now? Bronny boy. Little Bronny [laughs]. Baby Bronny. Yeah, why not?" Femi said.

One of the co-hosts noted that they thought that Femi would have named Giannis Antetokounmpo or Joel Embiid, and Femi explained why he had a bone to pick with Giannis.

“You know, maybe…I’m angry with Giannis because he can’t find a way to get everybody to pronounce his name correctly. He does let people vary his name constantly. Because of that, he’s disqualified, he can’t be in my corner," Femi said.

Femi may not have Bronny James in his corner at WWE NXT Heatwave, where he will defend the NXT North American Championship against Wes Lee.

Fightful will have coverage of NXT Heatwave as it airs on July 7.
