Paul Heyman On Rock vs. Roman Reigns WrestleMania Match: I'm Sure Dwayne Johnson Hopes So

Paul Heyman has helped Roman Reigns reach new heights, and many are clamoring for Reigns to get a huge WrestleMania match.

Reigns, feuding with his cousin Jey Uso about family, has often been linked to a potential match with The Rock. Though the Rock has said he's quietly retired to pursue a career in business, football and Hollywood, he's also mentioned he'd be interested in a WrestleMania match with Reigns -- who is "family" to him.

Heyman thinks "The Great One" wants the match a lot more than Roman Reigns does, and elaborated on that point while appearing on Ariel Helwani's MMA Show.

"I'm sure Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson hopes so. Roman Reigns never mentioned Dwayne Johnson's name. Paul Heyman never mentioned Dwayne Johnson's name. You can't categorize this as the biggest star on FOX and in WWE calling out a bigger star. We never mentioned him. The Rock mentioned Roman Reigns' name. He called out Roman Reigns. The Rock is positioning himself to get the celebrity rub off of Roman Reigns. God bless The Rock for doing it, he's always thinking and he's very sharp. He's not the only box office attraction at Vince's door saying, 'I want to work with Roman Reigns.' Every other box office attraction are all banging down Vince's door saying, 'Please put me in the main event of WrestleMania with Roman Reigns.'"

The Rock's last WWE match was an impromptu, six second match at WrestleMania 32 in April 2016. Outside of that, he competed in five matches in a 16-month period between 2011 and 2013.
