Pete Dunne To Defend WWE UK Title vs Jack Gallagher At Progress NYC Event

It was announced in the video above that WWE Cruiserweight fan favorite Jack Gallagher will be facing WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne in a title match at the Progress Wrestling event in New York City on August 12.

As Galllagher says in the video, he and Dunne have an extensive history, not the least of which includes the fact that Gallagher defeated Dunne in a qualification match for last year's Cruiserweight Classic tournament, which led to "Gentleman Jack" being signed as part of WWE's rebooted Cruiserweight Division.

Dunne, meanwhile, was the standout personality in January's WWE UK Championship Tournament where he lost in the final match to Tyler Bate. He was able to capture the title in a match at NXT Takeover Chicago back in May.

After the August 12 NYC match was announced, here's how both men reacted.

It should be noted that Pete Dunne is also the Progress Champion, though that belt won't be on the line in NYC next month, and in fact, he just became their longest ever reigning champ.
