Report: A24's 'The Smashing Machine' Targeting A December 2024 Release

'The Smashing Machine' is looking for a quick turnaround.

The Mark Kerr biopic, which stars Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson in the titular role, is reportedly eyeing a December 2024 release date according to Jeff Sneider. The film began production earlier this month and is expected to last until August.

Furthermore, A24, the studio behind the project, is reportedly looking to mount a strong Oscar campaign for the movie. A24 is behind former Best Picture winners like 'Moonlight' and 'Everything Everywhere All At Once'.

The movie is being directed and written by Benny Safdie of Uncut Gems fame. Aside from Johnson, the rest of the cast includes stars like Emily Blunt, Lyndsey Gavin, Oleksandr Usyk, Ryan Bader, and Zoe Kosovic.
