AJ Styles is reportedly headed home.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that AJ Styles won't be appearing on WWE SmackDown Live tomorrow night. Styles is reportedly headed home following last night's WrestleMania. Meltzer reports that Styles is dealing with a hip injury, though the severity is not known.
Styles was pulled from today's WWE Axxess events with security telling fans that Styles was hurt in last night's match against Randy Orton. Styles was replaced by Kofi Kingston at Axxess.
Fightful has reached out to WWE for comment on the status of Styles and have yet to hear back. We'll keep fans updated on the situation as more is known.
Styles battled Orton at last night's WrestleMania, walking away with the victory following a Phenomenal Forearm. The bout was perhaps most memorable, not for the action in the ring, but for the fans being unable to see the majority of the match. A light was kept on during the match, which blinded fans from seeing the contest. Randy Orton issued an apology earlier today on social media on behalf of WWE. You can view his apology here.
