Report: Aleister Black Undergoes Groin Surgery

Some unfortunate news.

Two episodes ago on NXT TV Tommaso Ciampa challenged Aleister Black for the NXT Championship. Following interference from Johnny Gargano, the bitter rivals Gargano and Ciampa engaged in a tug-of-war over the NXT Title belt which resulted in Gargano inadvertently hitting Aleister Black with the NXT Championship and in-turn handing over the NXT Title to the current champion Tommaso Ciampa.

Kevin Nash Provides Update On His Recovery Following Surgery For Torn Bicep Injury

This past week on NXT TV all three men were involved in a scuffle and during the recent NXT TV tapings it was announced that the three men would be competing in a Triple-Threat at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV on August 18th as Tommaso Ciampa was set to defend the NXT Championship against Aleister Black and Johnny Gargano. That match is now up in the air as Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline is reporting that Aleister Black is currently out with an injury that will require surgery. It was noted within the report that the injury took place during an NXT live event in Las Vegas when Tommaso Ciampa crotched Aleister.

There is no current recuperation time for Aleister Black but the injury was described as "scary" and TakeOver: Brooklyn IV is a mere two weeks away which puts the scheduled Triple-Threat match up in the air.

In an update by way of Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, Aleister Black has indeed undergone surgery on his groin stemming from the chop block delivered by Tommaso Ciampa at a Las Vegas NXT live event. As mentioned in the initial report above, TakeOver: Brooklyn IV is two weeks away and there is no current recovery time for "The Dutch Destroyer".
