Ariya Daivari has been released by WWE.
WWE 205 Live staple, Ariya Daivari has been let go by WWE as of Friday, Jun 25, 2021, as first reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider.
Ariya Daivari is the brother of Shawn Daivari, who was recently hired back to WWE as a producer. Ariya had been with WWE since 2016 and the start of the revamped Cruiserweight Division and remained a staple of that division for the last five years as the division and WWE 205 Live underwent different structural changes.
He will wrestle in his final WWE match on tonight's episode of 205 live against Ikemen Jiro, who last week defeated Tony Neese. Neese was also released today.
Fightful will have live coverage of WWE 205 Live tonight at 10 p.m. eastern time following WWE Friday Night SmackDown.
Daivari publicly commented on his release via Twitter.
Thank you all for the kind words and support. It's time to put sports entertainment behind me and get back professional wrestling.
